On June 15th the Susan Gage team was beyond thrilled as they ventured to Charleston, South Carolina for the wedding celebration of Carter and Bryan. The opportunity to work in the low country was quite exciting for the Susan Gage team. The ceremony and reception took place at the idyllic Middleton Place, a plantation along the Ashley River in North Charleston. The grounds are home to the country’s oldest landscaped gardens and feature breathtaking views of the river and marsh. Carter and Bryan were an absolute joy to work with & their vision of an elegant, southern wedding truly came to fruition.
The special day was blessed with unseasonably cool Charleston summer weather. The grounds provided the perfect backdrop as guests made their way through the mirrored garden to the ceremony at Butterfly Lake. Once Carter and Bryan officially tied the knot, the evening continued under the sprawling Sperry tent. The décor was a perfect mix of rustic and southern charm with hints of navy blue & tangerine. Guests sipped on Sweet Tennessee’s in honor of the bride and groom’s alma mater, Vanderbilt. The menu also had delightful southern touches such as succotash and sweet potatoes paired with the beef tenderloin. For dessert, there was a “his” buffet featuring a variety of homemade cookies and milk, and a “hers” buffet, featuring a “build your own shortcake” station.
The joy filled evening carried into the night as family & friends danced to old favorites played by Dexter Lake. The whole weekend was a reflection of the love between Carter & Bryan & the unity they were creating by joining their families. The Susan Gage team was to be part of this most special day! We wish Carter & Bryan a lifetime of love & happiness!
