Susan Gage began her catering career creating parties for friends from her home in suburban Washington. A self-taught chef, Susan initially catered with several friends in her local community, using her home kitchen as a base. She started Susan Gage Caterers in 1986 and through her hard-work and belief in using only the highest quality ingredients built a reputation for unsurpassed quality . In 2001, Susan’s son, Chappall, joined the company. A former military officer, with an M.B.A. from the University of Maryland, Chap has helped Susan oversee the company’s careful and measured growth. Today, with no advertising other than the reports of many satisfied clients, Susan Gage Caterers is a seven-day-a-week enterprise with more than 2500 parties yearly and $14 million in annual sales and was recently ranked as the top caterer in Washington DC by The Washington Post.
The company, located in Landover, MD, now operates out of a 32,000 square foot facility which includes a full commercial kitchen, sales offices, warehouse, a fleet of vehicles and more than 125 full-time employees.
