Susan Gage began her catering career creating parties for friends from her home in suburban Washington. A self-taught chef, Susan initially catered with several friends using her home kitchen as a base. As she continued to follow her passion, she founded Susan Gage Caterers in 1986. Through her hard-work and belief in using only the highest quality ingredients and caring staff, she built a reputation for unsurpassed quality. In 2001, Susan’s son, Chappall, joined the company. A former military officer, with an M.B.A. from the University of Maryland, Chap has helped Susan oversee the company’s careful and measured growth. Today, with no advertising other than client word of mouth, SG is a seven-day-a-week enterprise servicing over 3,500 events each year with $20 million in annual sales and was ranked as the top caterer in Washington, D.C. by The Washington Post.
